Work with internal audit and internal departments to make sure SOX controls are properly in place; Work in compliance with company policies, internal controls, accounting and regulatory requirements for GAAP ledger, STAT ledger, and SOX requirements.Technical Skills / Responsibilities• Record all entries, prepare monthly closing management reports, and clear any special issues related to revenue and expense related activities to the Life and Stop Loss premium related activities• Assist with creating management reports and presentations as needed• Research special issues and develop timely solutions requiring strong analysis and takes a new perspective using existing procedures or technical systems • Support testing and upgrades of three administrative systems that interface with the companies accounting system, and work with the internal / external IT team to guide the development and correct issues as they arise • Provide information and documentation to internal and external auditors during yearly audits and SOX audits • Provide review of other team members’ work related to cash reconciliations, closing entries, and closing reports, help to clear any issues that arise and give feedback to help team members improve reports or entries • Train other accountants as needed and provide training to new employees on all department processes & systems.

Responsible for recording company billing and collection activities related to our oil sales and purchases. Process all journal entries for purchases and sales and for balance sheet related items. Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts and prepare and submit the monthly sales tax filings. Work with our traders and other companies to guarantee the authenticity and timeliness of payments and receipts. Handle the company’s cash management system and maintain the account receivables to make sure collections happen in a timely manner • Record payable and receivable accruals for vessels caring our product and make sure all expense are properly accrued for month end close and make sure product is properly priced at month end. And keep track of ongoing vessel expenses until we sell the product. • Prepare monthly balance sheet recons for all cash, account receivables, and intercompany accounts during month end. And prepare all journal entries related to these activities • Compile the quarterly financial package submitted to our parent company by working with the other accounts and account payable to gather all of the information and enter into a complex spreadsheet • Reconcile daily cash activities including all Account Payable outgoing and Accounts Receivable incoming, review all outgoing wires from account payables to make sure wire amounts are correct and wire information is setup correctly and release outgoing wires daily, trouble shoot any bank issues that happen between our bank, parent company, or lenders • Invoice clients with provisional and final invoices for product in a manner dictated by contracts which dictate pricing formulas used and payment terms of each sale.

Regional analyst responsible for New Orleans, Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi region parking operations [the parking operations for several states and key cities]. Operation activities include reviewing and approving transactions performed and submitted by field personnel. Perform general ledger maintenance to produce monthly financial statements in a timely manner, and analyzing financial statements to identify, elevate and correct financial issues, including preparation of detailed account reconciliations. Work proactively with operational management in assessing regional financial performance. Also, interface with other financial personnel regarding transaction impacting their region’s financial statements. During this project had to dig in and learn every aspect of how cash moved through our location.• Working to help the integration of Standard Parking / Central Parking merger that closed last year.
