I served 10 years on Active Duty in the United States Army. I was Honorably Discharged and I enlisted into the California Army National Guard and enrolled into West Coast University. While serving, and attending school full time, I also earned my CNA certificate in order to work and gain experience in health care. I graduated with my BSN in Nursing and accepted a position in the ICU/DOU Critical Care Department at Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center. After working critical care for over a year, I transferred into the ED. I also got my commission in the US Army as a Trauma Nurse in the US Army Nurse Corps. I then transferred to Loma Linda UMC-Murrieta in the ER. I currently train nurses hospital wide with U/S guided PIV insertions. I’m also assisting in the development of the hospitals disaster readiness. I plan on continuing my education towards my Masters degree in order to teach at a later time.
