I worked for 3D Ply as a general worker but was greatly involved in a large amount of projects, for example; The manufacturing and assembly of first class train tables and the assembly of hotel furniture. Some skills i have learnt include: - The use and application of various adhesives (spray contact adhesives and two part structural adhesives) - How to operate a range of machinery, including CNC's, belt sanders, various saws and drills- The use of jigs to ensure that each cut or drilled hole is accurate - How to use sealers to stop particular woods (MDF) from swelling - How to spray sealers, contact adhesives and water proofing - Various ways of packing products in order to be sent out to clients- Simple electrical testing- How to sand certain products to different finishes, in order to either be sprayed or sent out for upholstering - Inserting different forms of metal inserts into products so they can be attached to brackets - How to laminate I found myself being highly involved in the spraying side of the company; as a spray shop assistant. Sanding in between coats of Stains and lacquers and spotting out imperfections in either the wood or the finishes used. Show less
