After many conversations we decided we were interested in quantifying the impacts of foliage coverage on fine particulate matter (AKA “PM2.5”, the concentration of suspended particles with a diameter ≤ 2.5 micrometers) in DC.When COVID-19 stay-at-home orders went into effect we were unable to tend to our LCAQS, therefore data collected ceased. We pivoted and began investigating how reduced human mobility due to COVID-19 has contributed to air pollution, specifically PM2.5 concentrations, using publicly avaiable PurpleAir sensors.PM2.5 concentrations are highly multivariate, being mediated by a wide range of natural and anthropogenic processes. For this reasons I built Generalized Additive Models (GAMs) that utilized data from NOAA ground weather observations, SafeGraph human mobility data and PurpleAir PM2.5 concentrations. Show less

Helping students realize their creative ideas and turn them into physical products at American University's Design and Build Lab. The DaBL is a rapid prototyping facility open to students of all disciplines and skill levels. As a Creative and Technical Special I lead certification workshops, teach engineering principles and best practices, as well provide insight and guidance on student projects.

TA for "Interactive Device Design", a class that explores a multi-disciplinary introduction to the development of embedded devices. Students learn rapid-prototyping skills, the engineering design process, and the basics of wired/wireless communications and hardware integration. Over the course, student groups will develop unique embedded systems aimed at solving practical problems.

The results provide insights concerning the observed epitaxy of these materials in hybrid nanoparticle experiments and provide guidance for additional experiments regarding the growth of structures utilizing these materials. Analyzing climate models from NASA Goddard of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption of 1991 with Dr. Valentina Aquila. By studying how volcanic eruptions impact Aerosol Optical Depth and atmospheric sulfate levels we can gauge their effect on the climate. By better understanding the climatic effects of eruptions we can more accurately estimate anthropogenic impacts on global warming.

Interpreters in Afghanistan have saved countless lives working with United States Armed Forces. Interpreters were promised Special Immigrant Visa's (SIV's) in exchange for their work. Now interpreters are being denied the SIV's promised. Save our brothers.
