Project financial management (USAID, EU, WorldBank, GIZ, Argidius Foundation, JICA, NORAD Foundation, Climate KIC, UNDP).Designing business plans and strategies for maximizing profitability and addressing major strategic issues that impact the organization's long-term financial future in terms of either expansion or divestment.Development and maintenance of financial policies, including training on and enforcement of such policies; development and enforcement of other internal controls; Keeping the business operations anchored on best practices.Project and programs budgeting, Cashflow analysis, and reporting both to funders and internally to relevant directors and relevant project/programs manager.Budgeting including company wide budgets as well as donor focused budgets based on the key cost drivers (both direct, indirect as well as overheads).Compliance and risk management across Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Ethiopia, Malawi and Zambia where GrowthAfrica has footprint.

General Finance & Administration• Spearheading overall Finance Functions and directing the transformation of Business & Financial outlook; driving business commercials and growth strategies including expansions, new projects, cost management, market growth, and risk management.• Implementing and monitoring financial policies for effective compliance in the business and responsible for institutionalizing financial controls for effective cash flow management. • Provided useful insights in monthly board report executive summaries through detail write-ups on company’s financial health and future forecast to set up the stage for monthly exec business meetings.• Supervising all regular accounting functions for operating activities including supervision of staff performing the daily accounting functions; monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of the general ledger.• Development, maintenance of financial policies, including training on and enforcement of such policies; development and enforcement of other internal controls; Keeping the business operations anchored on best practices.• Handles treasury management and bank relations.Donor Grant Management & Financial Reporting• In charge of the finance section that handles funds from NORAD, USAID, UNDP, NOREC, ARGIDIUS and FORD Foundation as well as key projects funded by the Government through World Bank.• Ensures financial practices comply with each donor’s requirements as well as internal financial regulation. • Actively participate in donor budget preparation, revision and give advice on donor requirements and ensure proposal budget and reports are submitted in the correct format.• Project and programmes budgeting, Cashflow analysis and reporting both to funders and internally to relevant directors and relevant project/programmes manager• Provide training and technical assistance on financial and grants management as needed to project staff, grantees, and other implementing partners.
