About Joseph Oddy
Currently research the phagocytosis and destruction of bacteria by amoeba at the University of Geneva. In addition, studying for MSc in International Development at SOAS (online).Passionate about fundamental biology, epigenetics, and microbiome-host interactions. My PhD consisted of lab-based research such as genetic manipulation of model organisms, PCR, mammalian cell culture, Western blots, RNA and DNA work, analysis of inositol phosphate levels, measuring of DNA methylation, fluorescence microscopy. In addition, I have enjoyed giving multiple presentations at symposiums and to my funding body. Prior to my PhD I attained a First Class MSc degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from UCL.
