Sprout Impact is a social impact company that specializes in creating community action campaigns to help individuals, groups, and corporations advocate for local social change. In 2023, I served as a principal consultant, building a nonpartisan coalition of faith, labor, and civic non-profits to better understand power dynamics and how to maximize their collective resources to influence public policy and address social and economic inequalities in Chattanooga, TN.

The SEIU Local 205 represents around 3,000 public and private sector workers across Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, and Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As Campaign Manager, I led a team of member political organizers to integrate our union's political advocacy with worksite campaigns. Additionally, I served as the Director of Independent Expenditures for all endorsed candidates at the local, state, and federal levels. I also represented the Local 205 alongside other partners in the labor and faith communities to establish a new civic engagement table in Tennessee known as Tennessee for All.Highlights include helping secure historic pay raises for Metro Nashville support staff employees, implementing a new step plan, and securing cost-of-living adjustments for Metro Nashville and City of Chattanooga employees. We won seven out of the thirteen endorsed candidates and initiatives at the state and federal levels, as well as four out of five endorsed candidates at the local level. Moreover, we secured multi-year funding from a coalition of national funders to support our coalition work at the Tennessee for All table.

The Equity Alliance is a non-partisan non-profit dedicated to advocating for equitable opportunities and systems to enhance the quality of life for Black people in Tennessee. In 2021, they initiated the BlackPrint, a multi-year strategic plan aimed at advancing democracy and empowerment across the state. Central to this plan is community organizing. In my role as Regional Organizing Manager, I directed a team of organizers in Memphis to conduct surveys within Black communities, addressing policy issues aimed at enhancing quality of life.

I led the re-election campaign for City Councilwoman Demetrus Coonrod, overseeing all aspects including voter outreach, fundraising, compliance, communications, marketing, and events. We won re-election by 38 points.
