I am a current PhD candidate at James Cook University, Townsville, QLD, Australia. I am researching ciguatera poisoning on the Great Barrier Reef. This research focusses on detecting ciguatoxin producing dinoflagellates using molecular methods and determining toxin presence in herbivorous fishes using analytical approaches. I hold a MSc and BSc from Salford University, UK. My work experience includes a bioscience lead in the UK's national Covid-19 testing facility, multiple years experience as a terrestrial and aquatic ecologist, a team leader for the UKs largest children's charity, and worked for the Wildlife Action Group, an anti-poaching and conservation NGO in Malawi, Africa.
