Academic Manager
Current- Recruit qualified, experienced teachers in conjunction with Academic Principal - Design methodologically informed teaching practices - Develop portfolio of English language courses offered to include general English, EAP, ESP, IELTS, Cambridge etc. - Design curriculum in line with accrediting body stipulations - Teach classes - Advise students on the progression route or employment as appropriate Develop teaching practices to match cultural learning differences • Prepare student induction pack/conduct student induction • Design and conduct initial student placement test (e.g. Oxford placement & oral) • Conduct mid course and final course assessments for students • Ensure accurate, complete records are maintained (e.g. copies of Teacher CV’s, copies of certificates, copies of references, completed student evaluations, summary feedback based on evaluations, copies of peer reviews, minutes of teacher meetings, completed annual review and development etc.) Conduct teacher induction • Issue teacher handbook • Review teacher prepared lesson plans to ensure that overall curriculum is being delivered • Implement wall chart based progress monitoring plans with provision for student contribution • Conduct teacher class based evaluations • Monitor teachers on a daily basis to ensure they are adhering to Teacher code of conduct • Conduct teacher performance and development reviews • Implement peer review process • Ensure Lecturers are on time for their classes • Organise cover in the case of teacher absence Hold team meetings • Develop Teacher academic resources • Provide support to teachers in terms of teaching practices • Ensure homework is being given to students and is being corrected in class • Ensure teachers submit class registers at the end of each class and complete daily class logs • Implement and review teacher evaluation surveys
