I'm Joe Murray. I am a freelance editor, proofreader, and administrative assistant. My objective is to generate income remotely so that I can collaborate with a team to build a rural homestead-community.I’m 31 years old; fulfillingly married for 7 years. I received an AA in General Studies in 2010, additionally I’ve attended college courses in many subjects over the years. My main career focus for the last 15 years has been restaurant food service. Centering mostly on organic, local fine dining, I’ve lived and worked in high-end restaurants in San Diego, Seattle, and the SF Bay Area. After being laid off and due to complications with the novel coronavirus pandemic, my wife and I took refuge with her parents here in Reno. We’re in the process of re-building and finding new careers. I recently briefly apprenticed to learn the trade of tile setting here in Reno with great success. In light of health concerns, I’ve chosen to pursue completely remote work. My vision for the future of my family is to collaborate with a team to build a rural homestead-community. I come from an organic farming, back-to-the-land tradition and ultimately seek to establish a localized self-sustaining system of systems supported by ways of living designed to restore and steward land. I’ve spent my circuitous academic, autodidactic, nomadic life so far absorbing information on ways we can remediate climate change and biodiversity loss, etc. I yearn to devote my attention and passion to the stewardship of land, to grow roots and regenerate ecosystems. I believe in doing so, our community can also lay a foundation for true localized social justice.
