I am an experienced strategy professional with a doctorate in engineering with a technical focus on developing technologies for the life sciences. My strategy experience has included in-house strategy at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and at The Boston Consulting Group, while my undergraduate through doctoral education was at MIT within the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department.At the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, I ran strategy engagements with our Nutrition, HPV, Vaccine Delivery, and Enteric and Diarrheal Diseases teams. Projects led included revisions to strategies, developing investment cases for new potential areas of investment, and developing tools and processes to maximize expected program impact. While at The Boston Consulting Group, I worked on engagements in healthcare, global health, technology, and operations. My core engineering expertise is in electrical engineering. My Ph.D. developed microfluidic and hydrogel-based systems to physically sort mixtures of cells based on images obtained using microscopy. My deepest technical skills are in engineering of complicated multi-domain systems and microfluidics; during my Ph.D. I developed systems that spanned across optics, automated microscopy, signal processing, electromechanical systems, and circuit design.
