Welder And Fabricator
CurrentI’m currently in a welding and fabrication role with FAWS Engineering based in Widnes, Cheshire. I have been in this role for just over a year.In this time, I have gained a lot of experience in welding with both the MIG welding set in the workshop and stick welding set on site. In the workshop I would follow engineering drawings to complete the job specified. Some of the tasks I would fulfil would be: .cutting steel beams, columns, box sections, tube and steel plates to the correct size.. Prep the edges of steel ready for welding. Mark out where exactly said steel or holes need to be.. Using magnetic pillar drill. Complete the welding. Paint steel in red oxide paint in required . Then label the steel for what job it is forWhen on-site we would install the steel whether it be steel beams and columns, bespoke hand rails, checker plate floors and etc. we would make sure that all steel is in the right place and installed correctly and level. If needed I would use the stick welding set. In my time at FAWS engineering I have used a variety of equipment while following the correct health and safety procedures. But most importantly I have gained a lot of experience within the workshop and the installing processes on-site.
