The CSE program is a joint program of mathematics, mechanical engineering, computer science, and bioengineering. My job was to assist in the development of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) algorithms. I also designed, ran, and analyzed CFD simulations using a number of discretization methods.While there, I also began my own original research, developing methods to solve problems related to advection, diffusion, and reaction of chemicals or species in incompressible flow. This method allows for fast computation, high accuracy, and the ability to solve for flows over complex surfaces. It also has applications to thermal systems. This paper is expected to be published Spring 2020. -
