Professional Mining Engineer
CurrentRecent project highlights include the following:•Chaquicocha Underground Project, Peru. Produced a detailed trade-off study between two different stoping orientations highlighting a path forward. Created the designs, schedule, and engineering report for the Newmont Stage 3 work. Built several mine plans to evaluate dewatering options. •Subika Underground, Ghana. Built and evaluated several mine plans in Deswik including, long hole open stoping, long hole stoping with fill, and modified sub level caving. The modified sub level caving was selected as the preferred mining method. Improved the modified sublevel caving mine plan to advance the mine plan through the stage gate process to receive acceptance and funding. Provided training to the site engineers.•Tanami Underground, Australia. Designed and evaluated a sublevel shrinkage mine plan in Deswik, resulting in substantial improvements over the current long hole stoping mine plan. Conducted a comprehensive comparison between the two plans, demonstrating that the sub-level shrinkage mine plan led to higher NPV, lower costs, increased production, and reduced risk. Achieved significant cost savings and operational efficiency by reducing backfill expenses and eliminating the need to skip waste through the shaft. Led the design and creation of each level, including the creation of a caving simulation model. Collaborated with multiple stakeholders, including Newmont Corporate, on-site engineers, Australian consultants, and other consulting engineers, to ensure a comprehensive approach. •San Albino Underground Project, Nicaragua. Developed multiple underground cut and fill mining plans. Played pivotal role in facilitating shift from open-pit to underground operations. Determined optimal cut-off grades and constructed detailed grade-tonnage curves through proficient utilization of the Deswik Stope Optimizer.
