I have over 5 years leveraging a blend of psychology expertise and UI/UX design. I specialize in creating intuitive, user-centric experiences. My approach is deeply influenced by Donald Norman's insights in "The Design of Everyday Things" integrating psychological principles into every design decision. With over five years of experience, I've successfully been a guiding part of projects from initial proposal through to post-launch, encompassing user research, strategy formulation, and design execution. In my most recent position, I was the key UX concepts designer for all new developments. My design philosophy, "designing for the silhouette" is inspired by Doug Chiang's work concept designing on Star Wars. I prioritize intuitive UIs, ensuring any deviations are purposeful and justified to enable good UX. Where intuitive design is challenging such as in complex data led UI, I focus on creating clear, user-friendly interfaces and effective onboarding processes. This methodology fosters discovery-based learning, resonating with principles from Ralph Koster's 'A Theory of Fun.' The prevailing idea is: if explaining something is hard - help them learn it for themselves. Its a concept that mirrors my time teaching in a classroom. Self discovery of information is a powerful tool.The pandemic presented unique opportunities to apply my skills. I've designed a fully immersive virtual tabletop for a personal DnD 5e campaign, incorporating custom designed assets, videos, and soundscapes. This project exemplified my ability to blend my psychology background, teaching experience, and UX skills to create engaging online experiences that align with Koster's vision of gaming as a learning tool.Technically proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, with foundational knowledge in C# and Unity, I'm adaptable to various technologies for development.
