•Work as Designer/CAD Manager for Design Engineering Department in Valero’s Port Arthur, Texas refinery.Successfully incorporate changes into any drawings related to the piping discipline, to keep them up-to-date. Efficiently leverage technology and batch processing to make this a one-person operation in a 4,000-acre facility, reducing overhead for management. Job duties  Keep all other CAD designers within the Engineering Services Department operating at peak efficiency by managing layer standards, workspaces, CUI changes, workspaces, etc.  Update existing or produce new P&IDs, plot plans, maps, Area of Classification drawings, PFDs and SFDs. Make valuable information readily available to personnel by using HTML/CSS to maintain intranet pages. Achieve efficient mass drawing changes through Access database programming Write and modify a variety of scripts and LISP routines. Facilitate hardware and software upgrades in Design Engineering group. Periodically review and modify refinery Standard Drawings. Frequently manage/mentor one or two temporary individuals brought in periodically for overflow work. Proactively work every day to help others become better users and more efficient employees Train new and existing users in Valero CAD standards and methodologies, both on-site and for various outside engineering firms. Help other employees track data and streamline workflows my creating and maintaining databases as needed for a variety of users and tasks. Created curriculum to teach a Basics AutoCAD class at Valero-Port Arthur Refinery, which helped Central Shop employees greatly reduce design time by using CAD tools such as scaled viewports, block libraries, etc., to cut down on redundant, unnecessary re-work.Well-versed in handling multiple projects simultaneously, assigning priorities and working with tight scheduling constraints.Familiar with industry standards for the oil and gas industry, particularly piping standards.

Exxonmobil-Beaumont

• Worked at ExxonMobil refinery in Beaumont as CAD operator, drawing/updating piping isometrics and P&ID plans for the inspection department using MicroStation SE.Job duties included drafting new isometrics drawings from field sketches, modifying existing isometric designs, modifying Process and Instrumentation Diagrams.

Cdi-Beaumont Office

• Worked in Beaumont office as CAD operator, drawing piping isometrics and piping plans for a variety of refineries in the area.• Job duties included drafting new isometrics drawings from field sketches, modifying existing isometric designs, creating and modifying piping plans, using Microsoft Access to produce a bill of material database extraction from isometric drawing packages, taking and verifying field dimensions.

Premcor-Port Arthur

• Worked in Engineering Services dept., providing support for a variety of engineers in a petrochemical refinery.• Job duties included drawing Process and Instrument Diagrams for various units, web page creation, editing and maintenance, Access database programming, using Adobe Acrobat to scan in and attribute documents.
