In 2006 I advocated on behalf of my mother, Dora, for changes in Medicaid that would provide portability in Medicaid coverage. While I won the battle I lost the war. She died not long before the program that was passed for her was implemented.2008-I submitted legisaltion to convert the current institutionally biased Medicaid system into a "Choice Centered" plan. Our bill, senate bill 561, was supported by the leadership in both houses by both parties. We also recieved over 30,000 letters of support from the people of Connecticut. The legsilation, crossing party lines, was passed unanimously by both parties and was publicly signed by Governor Jodi Rell.
