Hello, my name is Joseph Strobbe, and I am currently working as a Product Development Engineer in southeast Michigan. I am a 2017 graduate of the Jesup Scott Honors College at The University of Toledo, and I hold a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (BSME). While in college I had the opportunity to work both mechanical, and civil engineering internships for corporations including Ford Motor Company, and Midwestern Consulting. On campus I held several customer service, and instruction oriented jobs including Senior Resident Adviser, Teaching Assistant, and Lab Instructor. While not at work or studying I was an active member of numerous organizations on campus including the Young Entrepreneurs' Society, Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. While serving as president of the Young Entrepreneurs' Society, I developed a product that was showcased at a State of the College Address, was granted provisional patents by the USPTO, formed an LLC. and placed in several university, and community business plan competitions, Upon graduation I received the Student Leader award for my service to my peers, and the institution. I greatly value the education I received, and informal lessons I learned while at the University of Toledo.Since graduation I have worked as a Product Development Engineer for NSK Steering Systems America, Inc. in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In this role I have worked simultaneously on internal business system improvement, and customer product development projects, with a heavy emphasis on test planning and execution, and data analysis. For roughly two years I served as the project lead, and primary engineering contact for a customer program, through the design validation, manufacturing hand-off, and launch phases. Since beginning my career I have learned valuable customer communication, and supplier management skills. I have completed design and process validation test plans, and provided manufacturing teams engineering support. I am a quality, and deliverable oriented worker, and am willing to do what it takes to ensure internal and external customer expectations are met or exceeded . I look forward to continuing my development in the engineering professional in the years to come.
