Joe also supervised and developed a Strategic and Tactical Intelligence Unit with highly skilled Analysts. Joe supervised and developed a gang intelligence component, looping in the Corrections Bureau access to inmate information and behavior. Joe additionally supervised a team of detectives that were assigned to special case investigation, to include organized criminal activity.

This was another volunteer position within this agency that allowed Joe to assist in furthering the mission of the WCSO by supporting his peers. Joe worked under the license of Dr. Tania Glenn PsyD, LCSW who provided guidance and resource support.

WCSO Tactical Intelligence Unit; Special Deputy U.S. Marshal with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force; Joe worked with some of the best investigators in the field and had supervisors that encouraged professional development, intelligence gathering principles and proactive tactics. Joe’s experience within the Williamson County Sheriff's Office was fulfilling and he has a deep respect for all of his colleagues.

Team Leader of WCSO Tactical Negotiations Team (TNT); This is a volunteer team consisting of those deputies dedicated to providing the citizens of Williamson County with life saving intervention during hostage, barricaded subject and kidnap events. In coordination with the equally highly trained SWAT Team, TNT was prepared to respond to crisis sites. Joe also served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators as Vice President-Region IV from 2013-2017.

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Mental Health Peace Officer; Field Training Officer (FTO); This is where Joe learned invaluable skills that have heightened his level of communication and made him a better Negotiator. He highly recommends this duty to all Peace Officers to enhance their ability to communicate when dealing with those in crisis.

Patrol Officer working district beat in a supportive community. This agency has a lot to offer and employs some fine Peace Officers.

Gulfport, Mississippi

Joe’s entry into Law Enforcement which spanned an initial stint with Community Services and Dispatch, which then developed into Patrol assignments to include duty stations at the Gulfport/Biloxi International Airport and District Patrol. This agency also provided Joe with his Basic Law Enforcement Academy training at the Southern Regional Public Safety Institute. Joe served here during Hurricane Katrina which devastated this coastal area. Joe will never forget his fellow officers from this agency and does his best to stay in touch with several of them.
