Research focus in Bioprocessing and Protein Engineering for Biopharmaceuticals. My primary research projects have been related to development of a novel intein-mediated affinity chromatography system for production of tagless, traceless recombinant proteins. A significant portion of this work has been in support of the DARPA BioMOD initiative: creating a self-contained portable, multi-product device designed for on-demand, end-to-end manufacturing of injection-grade biosimilars and therapeutic proteins.

Sponsored by DAAD RISE Professional fellowship for 2018. As part of this fellowship program, I had the opportunity to travel to Darmstadt, Germany to work for Merck KGaA for the summer of 2018. Worked in Biopharma process solutions, R&D. My work focused on platform development for multiplexed and/or high-throughput chromatography using robotics, process automation and data science. Combining elements of protein engineering, HTS analytical techniques, process automation, DOE, and statistical modeling, we were able to build a novel screening platform that is now being used to expedite process optimization and bring new products to market in 2019.
