I’ve been caring for my Dad who suffers from Alzheimer’s and Dementia since 2013. I’ve fought hard to secure caregivers to help manage his care through Medicaid paid services, but it’s been a great challenge throughout the years. When Covid hit, reliance on others went from low to zero.I’ve been caring for my Father 24/7 w/o a break since then. It cost me a valued position working and growing with the same company for 27 years and put a cold stop to my career. Other than stints in rehab or medical facilities, Dad depends on me for his care. Reliable, capable and compassionate Aids are difficult to come by in Putnam County New York.My hope remains that I will be once again allowed to return to work somewhere that will benefit from my passion, loyalty and creative mindset.As of now, I remain committed to my family and the pressing needs of my Dad.
