I was taking lead in ensuring that all procurement & logistics functions which require synchronization between SP offices are handled in a coordinated, cost effective, and timely manner. These functions included external procurement, shipping, and flight transportation. I was the focal point for logistics. This involved directly managing logistics teams at the support offices (Juba and Kenya), working closely with field sites, and networking with other actors. I was responsible and lead in the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and systems for delivering logistics services. My daily activities included coaching and developing the capacity of staff to ensure that they could perform daily functions with minimal oversight.

I was in charge of designing, implementing and maintaining an effective system for procurement, transportation, inventory management and maintenance of all project and office relief and support materials. Submitting all Purchase Requests and updating Program Managers on the status to enable them plan their activities. Coordinated flights scheduling to meet passenger and cargo requirements for projects. Kept records of received cargo and flights and facilitated the logistics of all SP staff flying UNHAS to/from their locations. Worked closely with all program managers to establish annual procurement plans and push to have as many items as possible purchased and transported by road during the early part of the dry season (January to May) in order to reduce flight costs for moving non-critical items. Managed requests to the logistics cluster for the movement of SP materials from Juba to remote programming areas. Attended weekly logistics meetings and updated the Area Coordinator with any critical information. Assisted the Program Managers and Area Coordinator with decision making related to overall operations. Directly supervised the Fleet Mechanic, Fleet Manager, all mechanics, drivers and logistics staff. Managed the maintenance system and fuel storage and distribution system for all vehicles, generators and quad bikes serving program.

• Coordinated all logistical activities including transportation, communication, purchasing, and requisition and staff movement & visitors for Tana River county Programs Kenya, managed the procurement process of goods and services required for Tana River Programs, ensured maintenance of program vehicles, property and facilities, quotations collection, conducted Quote Analysis, prepared Purchase Requests, Purchase Order and other procurement & logistical documents, managed inventory, warehouse & base, maintained & organized storage and warehousing, permanent asset tracking and inventory upkeep, maintained base stock food levels and household supplies, scheduled & planned security guards Rota, arranged guest accommodation, ensured all staff accommodations were up to a comfortable standard, ensured all security and incident reports were prepared & reported to Senior Management and filed, implemented base safety and security practices, managed filing of procurement documents.

Improved the administrative link between the warehouse and head office, implemented coffee warehouse management, monitored adherence to policies and procedures as per the operations manual, managed coffee inventory, maintained and improved on all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) aspects, managed and coordinated machinery service schedules
