I'm currently studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics at Wymondham College Sixth Form, where I board most of the time. I already have an A in AS Electronics; which I studied alongside my GCSEs. I'm enthuiastic about maths and several related subjects.I spend quite a lot of my spare time reading further into maths, and working through challenging problems such as those posed in the Sixth Term Examination Papers - used by Cambridge and some other universities for their admissions process. I enjoy the UKMT Maths Challenge every year, and have been awarded several golds. This year I received a merit in the European Maths Kangaroo. I read widely on maths in my free time, and through this I devlop not only my subject knowledge, but also my mathematical thinking ability. Although I enjoy a wide range of topics; my favourite area of maths is number theory, which I like for its natural elegance and pure abstraction. Its applications are few and far between but that can also a blessing: as it's therefore more focussed on maths for math's sake.I'm also paritcularly interested in programming and have experimented with several languages, including but not limited to java, javascript and windows batch. I develop my knowledge when I work for Catalina Software Ltd.I paritcipate in several things at school and my greatest enjoyment in life is learning new things. Last autumn I was the head of of the UK delagtion of the Madrid session of the Model European Parliament, and I've also previously been involved with the Comenius project. This Easter I helped with the UK MEP.I'm interested in economics, I follow the markets and for a long time I've been using various fantasy trading platforms to develop my understanding and gain experience. I generally subscribe to Friedman's ideas.My long term aims are to study maths at the best university possible, and then go on to apply my mathematical knowledge to suitable fields of work or academia.
