Colleagues describe him as "I had a serendipitous introduction to Joe through a mutual friend, he was quite keen to talk to me about a career in IT and in the conversation it became obvious that he is a data geek. I tried to get him an internship at Rightmove, unfortunately nothing available, but I was so impressed with his commitment and eagerness to learn that I spent quite a bit of time with him giving him some interesting data analytics and database design challenges, in many cases asking him to do stuff that he has never done before. Without fail he rose to the occasion, whether it was to normalise very large flat datasets, or doing some statistical analysis, or doing some interesting geospatial stuff. He gets to grips with technicalities very quickly, but more than that, he is able to translate data and analytics and statistical results into plain english, and into clear, actionable business insights. So sad that we could not find a spot for him at Rightmove. Our loss......"
