• Assists in managing and overseeing the activities and operations of the Engineering Department. Coordinates assigned activities with other departments and customers; provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Chief Engineer, and performs related duties as assigned. • Manages the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, policies and priorities for each assigned service area.• Establishes appropriate service and staffing levels; monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of services and procedures; allocates resources accordingly.• Develops, plans, directs and coordinates, through subordinate level staff, the department's work plan, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.• Assigns projects and programmatic areas of responsibility; reviews and evaluates work methods and procedures; meets with key staff to identify and resolve problems.• Assesses and monitors work load, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identifies opportunities for improvement; directs and implements changes.• Selects, trains, motivates and evaluates assigned personnel; provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies; implements discipline and termination procedures.• Oversees and participates in the development and administration of the departmental budget; approves the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; approves expenditures and implements budgetary adjustments as appropriate and necessary.• Represents the Engineering Department to other departments, customers and outside organizations; coordinates assigned activities with those of other departments and outside agencies and organizations.• Attends and participates in professional group meetings; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of relevant engineering disciplines and planning.

I was directly responsible for the development of design standards within the group. This included the configuration of the Engineering tools (i.e.SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Smarteam, EPDM). I acted as the Lead Engineer on all projects, responsible the final design, factory testing and site testing in front of the customer. Prior to project award I worked along side Sales, doing both marketing and technical presentations as direct interface with customers.
