As a chess camp instructor I taught kids the basics of chess, from good sportsmanship and setting up the pieces to recording games through notation and checkmating with just a king and queen. Some of my students ended up performing very well in future chess tournaments.As a chess tournament director I ran an annual tournament at Baraboo High School that attracted players from across the state, including students from Fox Lake, Sauk Prarie, Madison, and Wilton, among others. The last touranment we had attracted over 60 players, which is one of the largest WSCF tournaments outside the Milwaukee/Sheboygan area
