Joseph was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is fluent in Spanish. He studied at MIT and completed a masters and bachelors in computer science, a minor in mathematics, and a concentration in music. While there he consulted for the Brazilian ministry of education and assisted government officials in improving the educational opportunities for secondary school students through the use of technology. Joseph joined Microsoft in 1997 and while there led several key projects such as spinning up a multi-disciplinary regional development center in Beijing, China, identifying technology transfer opportunities with MS Research, assisting in technical due diligence during corporate acquisition negotiations, and running the patent process. Joseph has been granted 10 patents by the U.S. Patent Office and he has filed an additional 3 patents. As a co-founder of Figuerz Joseph has developed blockchain software for a financial instruments market.
