Primary goal was to create a precise, inexpensive, and validated method to measure precious metal concentrations to resale waste to refineries. Significant Accomplishments:• Created, validated, and implemented in-situ ICP-MS and AA methods to determine gold, silver, and palladium concentrations down to part per billion (ppb) levels.• Assisted in daily testing of Process Control Laboratory as well as chemical management and reel-to-reel electroplating preparation and security.

The Center for Authentic Science Practice in Education (CASPiE) is a university based collaboration effort to increase authentic research in undergraduate chemistry classrooms. Significant Accomplishments:• Created a semester long laboratory module allowing students to investigate antioxidant and vitamin traits of household foods and vegetables. Methods given to students included HPLC, UPLC, various spectroscopic methods, and extraction techniques.• Student retention rate in physical sciences increased by approximately 24% within two years of module implementation.
