Dorna Sports are the global commercial and television rights holders for the MotoGP World Championship. I reported directly into Dorna’s Media Sales manager and the firm’s Managing Director, in the department which is the most important revenue source to the company, assisting in management of the image rights of MotoGP.Outline of Responsibilities:• Generating new business through the licensing of MotoGP video clips, photography, feature film and DVD rights • Liaising with clients in Australia, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Spain, the U.S. and the U.K. • Copywriting of Dorna’s marketing texts and brochures, incorporating marketing, television broadcasting, sponsorship and corporate hospitality• Providing instruction to our legal and accounts departmentsSpecific Project Work/Achievements:• Strengthening Dorna’s relationships with key clients worldwide, including the TVE (national Spanish broadcaster) & RTI (national Italian broadcaster) • Involvement in crucial film projects developing MotoGP’s profile in the important U.S. market• Managing the creation of the 2010 Official MotoGP Guide

Feb 2007 - Oct 2009 Journalist – Communications Department, Dorna Sports, Barcelona, SpainMy initial role at Dorna was as a journalist on the official motogp.com website, with overlapping duties supporting the Press Office of the MotoGP World Championship. The job took me across Europe and around the globe to countries such as the Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia and the U.S., covering Grand Prix races and interviewing riders such as Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner. Further to my commercial background in the UK I was able to influence the commercial aspects of the website, developing new sections and helping to drive user subscriptions.Outline of Responsibilities:• Liaising with riders, team managers & owners, sponsors and partners to generate editorial and advertorial content • Reporting on live action at the race tracks throughout an 18 round World Championship season• Voiceovers for advertorials, highlights videos and technical features• Overseeing and managing translation of all copy and all sections of motogp.com, in six languages• Writing weekly press releases covering all commercial and sporting aspects of the MotoGP World ChampionshipSpecific Project Work/Achievements:• Strengthening MotoGP’s links and relationships with key partners such as Yamaha, Honda, Ducati & Bridgestone• Personal highlights of travelling with motogp.com included interviewing Diego Maradona in Italy in 2008 and building a rapport with arguably the greatest rider of all-time, Valentino Rossi, through weekly interviews• Creation of a new section on motogp.com, MotoGP Basics, which subsequently won sponsorship from Michelin• Creating interesting video content, directing sponsors to present their own products, whilst encouraging more users to subscribe to motogp.com’s live video packages
