Corrections Officer
I was tasked with overseeing the safety of 120 plus inmate population in FOX unit. The unit consisted of six pods, in which I was tasked to two of them daily. My job included conducting random cell searches, writing reports, conducting pod searches, and inmate pat downs throughout the shift. Shifts would last anywhere between 12 to 16 hours long, and multiple secured escorts were made. I also had the privilege of conducting perimeter, checks as well as perimeter duty including circling the compound with a truck ensuring public safety. While on utility duty I would conduct recreation yard checks, along with random roof top checks. I was 12 gauge shotgun certified, (OC) Oleo resin Capsicum certified, as well as (PPCT) pressure point control tactics qualified. Developed outstanding communication, and deescalation skills.
