I first volunteered in the graphic services department at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History for a year. While there, I got to know some of the paleontologists and showed them some of my artwork of various prehistoric animals and fossils. This led to a meeting with the person in charge scientific illustration in the exhibits department and I began working with her. I also met Mary Dawson, one of the top vertebrate paleontologists in the world, as well as David Berman, curator of the paleontology department.As a result, I worked with Mary and David on various projects, having my fossil illustrations published in their scientific journal of paleontology, and I designed the department logo, letterhead, etc.
