I'm a counselor/psychotherapist and I specialize in three things: #1, Depth Psychology with a strong Jungian focus#2, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders and the Traumatic Recovery Process #3, Psychotherapy for Physicians, Executives and Senior leaders working through crisis I'm certified in (EMDR) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. My passion for working with people experiencing post traumatic stress came as a result of my own experiences as an EMT and Paramedic during my career in emergency medicine serving as a first responder in Arizona, California and Texas currently nearing thirty years of service. I believe in a collaborative approach & I consider myself a partner in your health and wellness.At my core I believe in using a psycho-educational approach in all of my programs, meaning I try to take the mystery out of the illness or issue you're facing, In hopes of clearing up common misconceptions and misunderstandings, better enabling you to bring meaningful solutions to the problems and closure to the issues. As the Clinical Director of the Crisis Response Team my role is to respond to critical incidents involving both our police and fire departments. The Crisis Response Team is a behavioral health unit. We provide critical incident stress debriefings (CISD) and we provide clinical direction of the peer to peer support program for both the fire and police departments. We respond to line of duty deaths (LODD) and officer involved shootings as well as provide mutual aid services to neighboring police and fire departments upon request.

The Behavioral Health Paramedic Program is a three part program. It's curriculum focuses on three core aspects: Self, Service and System. Self is about self care, Service is about how we provide services to the public during behavioral health calls and System is about how we as a system are responding from an organizational and developmental psychology perspective. Each section of the program is eight weeks in length and totals 64 to 88 hours of training per section. When the student matriculates from the program they would have received over 240 hours of training. It’s built in a similar fashion to the community paramedic and critical care paramedic programs. It is the third pillar of advanced practice paramedicine. The program is taught exclusively by clinicians with a background in public safety.
