Supported and developed Medication services, including the Immunization Ensemble interface with Epic. Technologies include C# ASP.NET, Intersystems Caché and Intersystems Ensemble.

Enterprise Medication Services TeamDesigned, developed, implemented and supported medication services used by Partners HealthCare applications. Projects included:Partners ePrescribing (PeRx): Developed and supported the Caché SOAP based interface between the Partners ambulatory electronic medical record system and PeRx. Enhanced the PeRx system by building a C# ASP.NET SOAP service to interface between LMR and the SureScripts Reporting package.RxHub Formulary Prepacking: Designed, wrote and implemented software to extract medication formulary data from RxHub (a national ePrescribing organization) and packaged this data in Caché globals. This solution used TSQL stored procedures on SQL Server.Drug-Drug Interactions: Enhanced the service to interact with LMR and to be accessible via SOAP. Designed and wrote the code to collect and extract DDI data for use in a study on tiered DDI alerting. Caché Services Manager: Designed and implemented standardized processes to provide and consume Caché services using the Caché Services Dispatcher, including the use of shared Caché objects to allow common message components for consuming Caché services via SOAP.Utilities: Built numerous service harnesses and other developer utilities using Caché SOAP services accessed from C# ASP.NET web pages.

BWH Application Development - SurgeryDesigned, developed and supported a number of healthcare applications, based on the Brigham and Women's Hospital's Caché database. Projects included:ESP: Designed and built this Caché Weblink application to allow the creation of surgery requests using a web based interface.OR Times: Built this VB6 application for real time surgery data collection.OR Schedule: Created an XML service to allow applications to access the OR Schedule.OR Nurse Scheduling: Enhanced this VB application to allow the scheduling of staff for the OR, including a download to the Kronos payroll system.

Smart-Stream Reconciliations System: Developed and supported the system using C with embedded SQL, mainly within a UNIX environment. The product was implemented on several different platforms (SunOS, HP-UX, AIX and Microsoft NT) and had several different RDBMSs (Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, Ingres and Oracle). Worked with customers and implementers to reformat and process data from interbank financial transactions.

Piloted implementation of PS2000 (a technical manual authoring system using UNIX workstations) Responsibilities included analyzing user requirements, resource planning, DTD design, conversion of legacy data into SGML and the installation and support of the system. Assessed the feasibility of building a link between PS2000 and another publishing system based on HTML. Supported the financial systems, written in COBOL. Updated COBOL code for the Y2K compliance project.

Worked on various projects and applications in the IT department of the UK South West Regional Health Authority, later taken on by EDS. Applications were written mainly in MUMPS, and work involved analysis, design, development, implementation and support. Projects included:Medical Data Index (user defined clinical auditing system): Responsibilities included coordinating support work, training users, analysis and programming.IHCS Core Systems: Development, support, conversion and implementation for the central systems of SWift's Integrated Healthcare System.DataMed Radiology System - MPI interface: Built the interface between a third party system and the SWift Master Patient Index.MSQL: Mapped the IHCS MUMPS database onto a relational model to be accessed using SQL.Integrated Pathology System: Used QA Automator to develop test scripts for this application.
