Field data collection for Dominion and Verizon joint-use telephone poles. Surveying tools include ESRI’s Collector app, TruePulse Range finder, and Trimble R1 GNSS Receiver. Data collected includes measurements of poles and wires, ownership determination, GPS point, grid addresses, tags, pole treatment code, third party features, and more.

Fairfax, Virginia

This internship involved verifying locations of the water supply sources used by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, including fire hydrants and certain water bodies. This was executed within an ArcMap layer using pictometry, photo layer, Google Maps, and field checking as methods of verification. Physical descriptors and closest addresses were added to an ArcMap attribute table with the goal of minimizing the time it would take for an emergency responder to locate the aforementioned water supplies.
