I am an HR and global operations consultant, with experience as leader of the HR, global operations, or global safety functions at two world-class organizations, Harvard University and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). Through Levy Global Support, I have conducted organizational assessments and advised on policy, operations, risk, and compliance for other clients, including major hospitals and universities. As CHRO of CHAI, I oversaw employee relations, talent acquisition, policy, safeguarding and investigations for 1800 staff in 40 countries. Over 16 years at Harvard, I grew from an HR generalist to founding director of Harvard's global center of excellence. Over the years, I've worked closely with hundreds of faculty, researchers, humanitarians, and artists, and I've learned to design organizations, processes, and services that support their needs, showing value on their own terms. I have also been deeply engaged in employee relations, designing and overseeing processes to address problems and disputes and promote improved performance. Both Harvard and CHAI are matrixed organizations filled with entrepreneurial personalities, and I excel at driving consensus and collaboration in that environment. I think practically about how stakeholders engage with institutional processes, and create value-added services that reduce obstacles while also mitigating risks. I also lead flexible problem-solving teams who work with clients to find creative solutions to complex challenges. In 2011, I created Harvard's Global Support Services (GSS), building it into a premier center of excellence for global operations and global safety among US universities. By the time I left, GSS already served thousands of clients across the university, and it has continued to flourish. I also led Harvard's international risk strategy and creation of a non-profit affiliated entity, Harvard Global, which centrally manages setup and administration of host-country outposts.I am a certified HR professional (SPHR, GPHR) with more than 19 years' experience spanning all HR disciplines, focusing on employee relations, organizational development, service delivery, and process improvement, with additional experience in benefits, compensation, complaints and investigations, dispute resolution, diversity and inclusion, emergency management, global mobility, HR information systems, labor relations, outsourcing, policy development, recruitment, risk management, talent development, Title IX/safeguarding, training, and workforce planning.
