The Manager, Applications Development will lead a team of software developers and content managers in the Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Ohio State University to update and maintain content management systems and custom software applications. This position will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of up to 3 full-time application development staff and 1-2 student assistants, including recruitment and selection of new hires, onboarding and orientation activities, performance management and training.This is a technical leadership position with the skillset to manage software development projects (development and customization) through project life cycles, manage team members’ efforts within projects, maintain stakeholder engagement, and ensure compliance with internal quality standards, organizational security, and accessibility standards.

Web Development Consult to administer the Sitecore enterprise content management systems for the Comprehensive Cancer Center; responsible for access control, security and permissions for the Sitecore Platform; installs content and template packages into platform; reviews analytic reports and log files to troubleshoot performance issues; manages customer experience functionality; monitors data imports from external systems to verify successful completion; provides mentoring and guidance to junior software developers; designs, develops, tests and integrates public facing and internal web-based software for the cancer programa??s websites; establishes working relationships with on-site marketing staff to develop use-cases for web-based software; translates these informal use-cases into production quality code using established software design patterns and practices; refactors existing code base to improve efficiency and maintainability; leads code reviews to ensure coding standards are met; develops domain and normalized data models to translate business needs to an application framework; plans and implements architectural changes to the Sitecore platform; stays abreast of forthcoming changes to the Sitecore platform to help plan for future architectural changes.
