I’m a Data Analyst with a passion for using data to uncover the secrets of systems and processes employed by businesses. I’ve a natural tendency to take a holistic approach to problem solving which helps me to identify opportunities to improve reporting capabilities and streamline workflows. I became aware of how powerful data could be with the right toolset through my close collaboration with developers and analysts during key projects in my career. Inspired by those interactions, I decided to pursue further education in order to expand on my skills in data collection, preparation and analysis. I previously achieved success in my role as a Finance Analyst due to my ability to reconcile large data sets from different sources. Through data analysis I was able to identify and resolve system discrepancies which were causing third parties to overbill our organization. I effectively compiled reports to support the subsequent credit requests and monitored the success of the process implemented to prevent further revenue haemorrhaging. During my time in Logistics, I refined my management skills and ability to understand and define business goals through the coordination of a project as a department SME. I take pride in the organised approach to requirement gathering and UAT testing that enabled the team to successfully migrate into the new system that I had helped to create.Examples of my skillset:- Process Improvement: Saved my then employer $10K / month by identifying system inefficiencies through the reconciliation of internal data against third party data using Excel. Implemented a reproducible process to resolve faulty reporting and monitored its success.- Reporting Improvement: Improved month end finance reporting capabilities by creating a process for automatically calculating deferred revenue on newly released products.- Market Research: Provided data-driven recommendations for the launch of a video streaming platform by using SQL and tableau to perform an analysis of their customer and movie license database.- Ecommerce Buying Patterns: Guided ecommerce marketing strategies by identifying correlations between customer groupings and spending patterns.
