Primary duties include:- Quantification of weathering grade using both BS5930:2015 & the EDF proposed weathering scheme, providing advice directly to engineers in cases which require action or remediation. - Use of high-definition photogrammetry (November 17 – July 18) and precise geological sketches derived from CAD drawings (July 18 – Present) to produce a top-down representation of rock. - Use of collected data sets & high-quality images to produce comprehensive geological maps of entire HPC site (produced using basic AutoCAD & ArcGIS) which highlight areas of possible weakness & summarise expected engineering behaviours going into the future. - Inspections to identify the weathering grade of in-situ material prior to an excavation, to ensure that the material is correctly classified before reuse on-site. - Experience logging bore holes to BS EN ISO 14689, especially in relation to the Blue Anchor Formation Improvement trial at HPC.
