This then allowed Kamehameha Schools IT department to quickly develop system enhancements and track prioritization across several requesting departments at the enterprise level which kept the team focused on what is truly important to the company overall strategy. As such, we reached alignment between tactical IT operations and Enterprise Strategy.

As a Brighton Solutions, Inc. consultant, I was hired by HP's America's Integration division to recover a late to market project that was previously outsourced to a vendor in India. The project had faced several challenges at the time. My goal was to quickly identify these challenges and define the next step actions that we need to immediately take in order to recover the project. In the end, I was able to successfully recover this one year behind schedule Java based project by doing the following:1- Interviewed the business users and established a minimal set of viable requirements of what is absolutely necessary in order for there to be business value when the product is delivered.2- Established an iterative development project timeline that methodically delivered logically useful segments of the product. 3- Brought the development work in house and assumed the role of a hands on Java development lead on the project. 4- Because the project was over budget as well, we needed to switch to complete open source development. This meant, Java J2E running on Apache web and Tomcat Application Servers with the use of Eclipse as the IDE.Another challenge that I was able to accomplish here was to train the business team on testing principals which they then were able to apply in our development iterations while building the product. In the end, the project was a success! The business value was realized and I was able to successfully hand the product to the maintenance team for continued support after it was deployed.

As a Brighton Solutions, Inc. consultant, I was hired to lead a development team through the development of new products at this new startup. Through collaboration with Ernst&Young as well as Deloitte and Touche, I was able to lead the Ultryx development team through the delivery of multiple web based projects. Among the accomplishments here:♦ Successfully Designed and delivered the companies first web based application that enables manufacturers to manage their distribution channels through a centralized web based system. This product was known as E-Merge and was thereafter sold and implemented at several of Ultryx's clients. A later project required me to lead a team of developers to convert this product from Microsoft Visual Basic & SQL Server technologies into the Java based technology using IBM Websphere as the application server and Oracle as the database platform.♦ Worked closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to design and deliver a sales and customer relationship management (CRM) web based application. This product was sold under the name (SMART)
