Worked as a Research Fellow for “E-Participation 2.0: Connective Diverse Philippine Populations for Disaster Risk Management with a Toolkit Integrating Text and Speech Analytics”, a two-year collaborative project of National University, Philippines and University of California, Berkeley. This research project is funded by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) through the Philippine-California Advanced Research Institutes (PCARI) Project (no. IIID-2015-07).The goal of the project is to empower citizens to participate in disaster risk reduction management (DRRM) decision making through the development of a participatory toolkit. 1. Explored technology to analyze quantitative and qualitative responses (e.g., sentiment analysis, topic modeling, classification, PCA, etc.);2. Integration of NLP/ML models with the existing toolkit (which uses Django framework);3. Co-author a paper and submit it in high impact venues;4. Conducted workshops at SUCs and conferences.
