About Joseph Katsala
I am passionate about creating a world where youth are empowered to shape their futures and become leaders in their communities. With a strong foundation in monitoring and evaluation, project management, and international relations, my focus has been on driving grassroots change and facilitating strategies that uplift rural communities across Malawi and Africa. In my current role as an M&E Officer at CorpsAfrica Malawi, I work closely with volunteers who are leading initiatives in underserved communities. This allows me to understand the unique challenges faced by these areas and collaborate with youth to develop solutions that address poverty, education, and economic opportunities.I’m motivated by the belief that our actions today can craft a brighter, more equitable future for all. My work revolves around training the next generation of change-makers, empowering them to realize that they hold the keys to their own destinies. I have been honored to receive recognition from the President of Malawi in 2020 for my Malawi Vision 2063 essay, and I have facilitated several impactful projects through partnerships with CorpsAfrica and World Connect. My academic journey, which includes scholarships from Unicaf and CorpsAfrica to pursue a Master’s in International Relations at Liverpool John Moores University, fuels my drive to influence policy and decision-making on behalf of rural populations. In the future, I see myself collaborating with other African youth as a diplomat, working on community development initiatives and shaping policy to create sustainable solutions for our continent’s most pressing issues.
