After an incredibly rewarding experience as in-house patent counsel for NREL, I returned to private practice as a patent attorney based in Colorado. My current practice includes patent preparation and prosecution in technologies such as: Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, 4G/5G Cellular Infrastructure Technologies, C-RAN, Distributed Antenna Systems, Network Infrastructure including Automated Infrastructure Management Systems, Citizens Broadband Radio System (CBRS), Organic Photovoltaic Devices, Realtime Operating Systems for Mission Critical Applications, Aircraft Avionics and Navigation, Un-piloted Autonomous Vehicles and Urban Air Mobility, Micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), Chip-scale Atomic Clocks, semiconductor fabrication and packaging technologies.I'm looking forward to continue to grow my practice, building on the foundation of my experiences in the renewable energy and clean-tech arena as well as exploring the burgeoning tech industry here in the West, particularly Colorado and Wyoming.

As the lead patent attorney for NREL's National Center for Photovoltaics, I had the pleasure of working with some of the brightest minds in PV and renewable energy research to bring clean technology innovations to industry.My in-house practice included the development of NREL’s portfolio of patents, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, providing advice and counsel to laboratory management, supporting technology transfer licensing executives, assisting in the development and negotiation of technology partnership agreements, conducting IP related investigations, management of outside patent counsel, and conducting IP training sessions for laboratory personnel.

During my first years as a patent attorney at Fogg & Powers, I honed my skills and collaborated with clients to craft their intellectual property portfolios to achieve their strategic business objectives. My practice emphasizes delivering high quality issued patents by providing clear and pragmatic legal advice, by being sensitive to client budgets, and through plain old-fashioned hard work.

While at Bonneville , I assisted in the development and issuance of filings to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other regulatory issues as well as projects concerning bankruptcy, transfers of copyright and trademarks, and miscellaneous environmental protection issues affecting the Columbia River Basin.

Prior to law school, I served as a principal engineer for the Nuclear Division of Florida Power and Light Company. Stationed at the St. Lucie nuclear power plant, my primary responsibilities included reactor control systems and process instrumentation, radiation monitoring systems, high voltage power distribution systems, and the emergency diesel generators. I am a registered professional engineer in the State of Florida (currently inactive status).
