I built and scaled our technical team from myself and one engineer to fully-fledged product, design, engineering, DevSecOps, and professional services organizations, totaling over 30 people with layered management. Our platform serves millions of API requests per day, including real-time ML recommendations, and achieved SOC2 compliance.On the revenue side, the product that my team built has driven nearly 40x revenue and new logo growth. I was also instrumental in placing diverse candidates in leadership roles in my and the broader organization, including gender parity among my engineering leadership team. As a member of the company leadership team, I drove strategic discussions, such as a successful Series A fundraise and board presentations to institutional investors.Prior to Proton AI, I began my career working on data science and machine learning as an individual contributor. This included founding a data science function at Shareaholic, one of the largest sharing tool providers, and building out a large-scale recommendations system operating over their large datasets. At Infinite Analytics, I built recommendations and product search tools for B2C e-commerce that powered high-volume and high-profile sites, such as Brazil's largest online retailer, Americanas, Tata Group properties, and Kate Spade.I'm a frequent informal collaborator with friends and colleagues in academia, both on technical and organizational questions. This has included invitations as a guest speaker at the University of Washington's Foster School of Business.I love mentoring and community building. In Boston, I've co-founded a small group of peer startup operators in product and engineering roles that meets regularly to share experiences and provide support. I've helped place former interns and employees at leading postgraduate programs (e.g., Yale University) and other organizations (e.g., Apple, Facebook).In my spare time, I'm an avid food and arts enthusiast. I've been regularly publishing food writing and recipes online for the last three years, and have been a member of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts Museum Council for many years.
