As a finance intern with Contour Aviation, I was able to see the different aspects of an Aviation business, as well as experience what it is like to run a company from a financial standpoint. Working within a midsize company allowed for me to truly see many different areas of the company, all while focusing on the financial side of the business. I worked directly under the Executive Vice President of Finance, which presented me with many impactful opportunities to learn under management. In my role of a finance intern, I worked on several projects, typically accomplished and repeated on a monthly basis. My tasks consisted of:• Consolidating ticketing revenues • Reconciling bank accounts and credit cards within the company • Building monthly budgets to forecast the remainder of the fiscal year• Working on projects accomplished through collaborative efforts with coworkers I was also able to travel with company executives to Indianapolis for the announcement of new flight routes out of the Indianapolis International Airport. This allowed for me to experience how a real-world major business deal is handled between parties and meet many influential people involved.
