I’m working on scaling and enhancing our Labs platform to create high-impact, learner-focused solutions. Some projects I've worked on the past couple of years include Labs Educator Analytics, which empowers instructors with the ability to view students’ progress in real time, analyze class performance, and deliver timely support, and Labs Image Versioning, a feature that allows educators to switch between Docker-based environment versions for programming assignments, enabling data-driven insights into learning outcomes and providing greater confidence to be bold in instructional design. I still specialize in Labs Images — these environments are vital for thousands of learners and are frequently cited as crucial to their technical skills practice. Through my expertise in Docker environments, I’ve onboarded team members and supported major partners by coming up with creative solutions to complex issues in an environment with restrictive and sometimes unknown constraints.

I was responsible for improving and maintaining our entire suite of hands-on technical education tools, named Labs. These are an important part of Coursera's platform, as they allow learners to put into practice the ideas and concepts that they are learning using industry-standard tools, without having to set up local development environments. In between all of the maintenance and bug fixes, I led and executed the effort to add the ability for our Labs that utilize nbgrader for autograding to redact automatically generated feedback, while still giving instructors the ability to display helpful hints to learners who may have been struggling.I also contributed to some migrations and to improvements to other tools for instructors that allowed for self-serve assignment configuration.

I was on the Porcupines team, which was responsible for Coursera's Partner Experience. My main project was to add an icon on the general Edit Content page that shows our partners which items are linked to other courses/versions. To do this, I had to create a new API endpoint to retrieve item linkage information within a course which was used on the front-end to display the icon in the course editor. I also contributed some performance enhancements and other front-end platform improvements.

I created an internal tool that provides developers with more information regarding the GraphQL queries running on their servers that use the AGQL platform. Previously, we were able to gather operations performance as they were being run, but there was no way to capture or display historical data. With my changes, we are able to log all of this data in AWS CloudWatch, aggregate it using CloudWatch Logs Insights queries, cache it and display it to the user on the GraphiQL-based Playground IDE through the response extensions as well as directly in the IDE itself.

I supported the Fire Scout team in the Tactical Autonomous Systems division of Northrop Grumman's aerospace sector. I worked on creating realistic scenarios with the purpose of using them to enhance air vehicle operator and mission payloads operator training. Additionally, I supported an effort to create an application which is able to interface with the helicopter, providing maintenance capabilities and status information. In this project, I created pages for two subsystems and worked with another intern to use JavaScript to develop a framework to improve the overall design, consistency, and page development time across the application as a whole. By making these design choices, we were able to save over 300 hours of manual testing per testing event by allowing for Selenium automated tests.

I tutored for the Basic Data Structures & OOD and Software Tools & Techniques courses at UCSD. These two courses lay the groundwork on which the more advanced courses build upon. As a tutor, I help with the logistics of the class (proctoring and grading exams and assignments) and also provide assistance to students in the computer labs by analyzing and debugging their code and clarifying confusing terms and concepts covered in lecture.

I worked on the Core Platform Development team, and was part of the company-wide effort to reduce the bug backlog by 50% as part of the Madrid quality release. I investigated and identified causes of many different bugs, including one regarding inaccurate and unexpected text search behavior. Furthermore, I learned about cross-site scripting and fixed a test-escaping error while maintaining security again the aforementioned attacks. Also, I fixed currency localization errors to ensure functionality for world-wide customers.
