My role at FastCAP split my time between Director of Engineering responsibilities and Lead Engineer responsibilities. I'm a advocate of leading by example and enjoy working both as a manager and engineer. - Studied under MIT Professor Dr. Jim Roberge, an expert in classical control theory and circuit design with over 50 years of experience in the field- Characterized Texas Instruments voice coil driven MEMs mirror for non-linearities and dynamic response- Modeled mirror dynamics with linear time invariant system equations- Analyzed material properties of mirror surface for deflection and surface quality to minimize beam dispersion - Designed and prototyped complete mixed signal laser beam steering system incorporating MEMs micro mirror for precision laser applications. Power and control circuitry was entirely analog with digital calibration and communication systems. Pointing resolution of <40 µrads, -3dB, bandwidth of 1.1 kHz, and >60dB disturbance rejection- Optimized electronics to minimize size, weight, and power consumption for mobile applications including free space optical communication on land vehicles and UAVs- Developed custom software for Gaussian laser point location detection and tracking- Designed custom optical beam expander for large field coverage with minimal beam divergence- Validated performance through dynamic response and pointing accuracy tests

- Worked under Dr. Rosalind Picard and Dr. Rana El Kaliouby who co-founded Affectiva on work completed during this period- Developed speech processing and visualization application to aid in speech development for children on the autism spectrum. - Designed real-time speech enabled computer games. Tested games with subjects on the autism spectrum alongside expert speech therapists.
