Hummingbird gives the people fighting financial crimes superpowers. Our service is designed to enhance anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing investigations. It reduces cumbersome paperwork, provides insightful analytics, and enables collaboration for compliance professionals and law enforcement agents.We’re on a mission to turn the tables against criminals who pollute our financial system. Modern criminals are sophisticated, tech-savvy, and agile. The tools used to fight financial crimes should be, too.

Designers + Geeks was one of the largest communities of designers and technologists in the world. It met monthly in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Boston. 300+ events and nearly 50k tickets sold. Working with IDEO.org to create financial health resources for low-income and disadvantaged people. We are focused on trying to help people understand and improve their financial situation. My role involved prototyping and data analysis to assess common financial health problems.

Led risk management and fraud prevention practice areas, including oversight of transaction monitoring and machine learning, analysis, tooling, banking and card processing relationships, and investigations by team of five analysts. Enhancements to these areas resulted in a 4x decrease in Circle’s fraud rate in my first 90 days as lead.Established Circle's data science practice area, including financial modeling, signal discovery for fraud prevention, and customer acquisition scenario analysis.

First product hire & executive at Circle. Led product marketing and management for Circle’s initial consumer products, including web, iOS, and Android platforms.

Product lead for Square’s first ecommerce products, built with a team of twelve engineers and six designers. The Online Stores product later spawned Square's invoicing and order-ahead services. This was the first place Square accepted bitcoin, in 2013.

Grew the analytics team to build Square's first merchant-facing dashboard that addressed accounting, inventory management, and customer communication needs for small businesses. This became Square's highest engagement product for merchants.

Hired as the second product manager at Square. Managed a team of seven engineers and three designers to deliver Square’s first analytics products. Extensive business owner interviews and prototyping informed a product that quickly answered basic performance questions and encouraged deeper metrics exploration.

Worked on several startups. Learned many useful lessons in entrepreneurship, web design and development, and venture capital along the way.

Brightcove makes it easy for organizations to deliver video and other rich media through the web. Leading brands like The New York Times, Sony BMG, and Ticketmaster use Brightcove to manage and publish their online video.I worked on marketing and product strategy for 3.5 years while the company grew to more than 170 employees and became cash-flow positive. In 2012, Brightcove went public and is traded as "BCOV" on the NASDAQ.

While at ZS Associates, I provided data science & management consulting services to companies operating in a variety of industries, including biotechnology, medical devices, educational technology, and consumer product goods.
