As of January 2021, after having the privilege to successfully serve as NewGen’s President & CEO over the past seven years, I have decided to step down from these responsibilities but remain actively engaged in the continued success of NewGen. My role change has been pre-planned with the Board formally selecting my successor in the summer of 2020. As Director and President Emeritus, I advise the current President & CEO, serve on the firm’s Board of Directors and support client projects. Whether in my previous role or now, my primary focus has always been to serve clients and produce successful project outcomes. These goals and objectives will not change. Lead consultant and project manager on a variety of consulting assignments ranging from $50K-$2M, including quality control, expert witness, trainer and public speaker. Consulting activities included a wide range of diverse services focused towards the Energy Sector including resource planning, power markets pricing and risk analysis, enterprise risk management, transmission planning and policy, fuels consulting, retail and wholesale rates, expert testimony, asset valuation, asset appraisals, financial planning, due diligence services in support of revenue bond financings., sustainability, AMI and related services, smart grid, bench marking studies, organization development and strategic planning. Services are offered to the energy sector including investor owned utilities, municipal utilities, generation and transmission cooperatives, governmental agencies, and energy companies.Practice management responsibilities include business performance (P&L), strategic and business planning, business development, budget development and administration, project management, quality control, product development, client relations, multi-office communication plan, recruiting, staff development including mentoring and training, direct supervision, performance evaluations and salary administration. .Business development activities include pursuits, proposal development, speaking engagements, conferences, and direct sales calls to clients.Technical consulting services offered in the areas of utility cost of service and rate design, financial planning, due diligence in support of revenue bond financings, feasibility studies, asset appraisals and valuations, and engineering and economic evaluations of all types for electric, water, wastewater and gas utilities.
