RTX is a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of commercial, military, and regional aircraft parts and military systems. I have spent thirty-plus years at this company driving digital transformation at all levels, from personal support of individual technical issues up to leading multi-million dollar strategic information technology projects.I've spent much of my career doing software development, architecture, project leadership and defining forward-looking technical strategy. I have a wide range of experience in the computer science field. Some interesting areas I've focused on include complex computer graphics applications, product life-cycle management, test data management, eBusiness portals and applications, low-level operating system development, and business intelligence. Recently, I have been focused on developing a robust knowledge management and search framework for the company, exploring natural language processing, transformers and other LLM/AI/ML opportunities, and defining strategic solutions for content management, productivity improvements, and cost savings.Regarding skills, my coding goes back to the Fortran era, but I spend most of my time working in Java, C#, Javascript, Python and other modern technologies. However, there's a never-ending parade of new technologies to learn, and I've always got a few opened computer science books (or Kindles) taking up space on my desk. I pride myself in continuous learning and continuous improvement - both in my personal capabilities and in the services, strategies, and applications I deliver.As for hobbies, if I'm not spending time with my family, which is my priority, you can find me taking walks listening to audio books or podcasts, or reading books on philosophy, physics, apologetics, or history. A few sci-fi/fantasy or even graphic novels may be scattered within as well.
