Develop and maintain solutions to satisfy the material handling requirements of a variety of OEM clients, specializing in the production of equipment for the metal working industry. Construct partnerships with customers to recognize their needs and identify potential opportunities for new business.• Design material removal and coolant filtration solutions for a variety of metal working equipment, including lathes, milling machines, laser cutters, grinding equipment, etc.• Manage the verification and validation testing of new concepts which are needed as manufacturers bring new innovations to the metal working market.• Develop designs for manufacturability and cost improvement while maintaining lean initiatives.• Lead a team that was responsible for designing a series of conveyors which reduced one customer’s shipping costs 50-60%. Submitted a patent application for this system, and am named as one of the Inventors.

Govern the use of all CAD/CAM, data management and documentation software utilized by Engineering personnel. Ensure compliance with established Lean initiatives through the continuous improvement of Engineering standards, procedures and design tools. Provide technical support to all Engineering staff and coordinate any necessary training.• Implemented the SolidWorks parametric CAD software throughout the Engineering Department. Developed various design templates, components libraries and databases as well as organized training classes for users of the software.• Responsible for the development of new Engineering Standards, Design and Modeling Practices as they relate to the 3D SolidWorks software.• Established the use of SigmaNest; a CAM software used by the Production Department for nesting sheet metal parts for our CNC laser cutting machine tools.• Created a series of tests to assess the design skills of perspective employees, and administer these tests for Human Resources.

Lead designer of material handling solutions for a number of OEM clients in the European and Asian markets. Developed designs for production by manufacturing licensees based in the Czech Republic and India. Helped to initiate the design and implementation of a new conveyor design, specifically aimed at the OEM market, and designed with the lean manufacturing philosophy in mind.• Built relationships with a Manufacturer’s Representative in the Czech Republic and a variety of customers throughout Europe.• Gained familiarity with the DIN and ISO types of International Standardization.

Assigned to detail work on projects which covered all of the various products offered by the company. Grew to be heavily involved with the CNC sheet metal cutting laser, not only from an Engineering aspect, but from a Production and Maintenance viewpoint as well. Presided as the back-up Engineering contact for troubleshooting and “nesting” of sheet metal flat layouts for the laser.• Developed an in-depth knowledge of all product types by learning from the experiences of the Lead Engineers and applying them to new designs.• Established a remnant tracking program to reduce the amount of sheet metal scrap produced during Manufacturing’s use of the CNC laser.

One of four high school juniors chosen by the Workforce 2010 program for job placement at a manufacturing company in Ozaukee County. Responsible for the compiling of shop paperwork for repeat job orders. Responded to calls from Production personnel, generated and processed Engineering Change Notices.
